I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m old enough to remember President Reagan standing at the Brandenburg Gate near the Berlin Wall, saying “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” Well, history has a way of repeating itself, and 27 years later we find ourselves looking at another wall… the one between our store’s sales room and the office space next to it.
I remember the day that we moved into our current 1906 building. We had just moved out of our 1900 Geer St location, a converted living room that doubled as a store. We had no room at all at Geer St, and we looked around in our new store area and wondered what we were going to do with all that space. It didn’t last long though. The grain room, shelving, many large refrigerators, so many things took up the space, and even though we had more than 4x the area we had before, we felt cramped all over again.
Our neighbors to the left have moved out though, and we’re once again expanding our homebrewing empire throughout the 1906 office complex! No more standing shoulder-to-shoulder while looking over the recipe kits! No more waiting for clearance to open the refrigerator door! And no more checkout line right in front of the displays! That’s right, the showroom is growing to over 3x its current size, and the only thing standing in our way is the wall. Mr. Dizo, tear down this wall!
We are very excited to be expanding the store to offer more selection and to have more room to move around in. We’re very proud to be able to grow our business this way, and it’s all because of our great customers and brewers who keep us going. You’re the best!
We will be closed on July 4th as we put on our hardhats, pick up sledgehammers and get to work. Hopefully Hasselhoff won’t start singing at our place like he did in Berlin. Enjoy the holiday and all that it means to our great country. Thank you again for all of your support!
